Monday with Willa

Monday was a great day to be outdoors. Both Willa & Rocco got some walk time.

Later, Willa spent some time outside on the grass, barefoot. She wasn't very happy about it.

She tried really hard to keep her feet off the grass. I finally bounced the play set so her feet had to touch the grass. She enjoyed the bouncing, but was most happy to be back in the house.

Crystal's Flowers

I love visiting Crystal's backyard this time of year. She has a variety of flowers that bloom at various times of the SD growing season. I took advantage of Willa napping and toured the flower beds on Monday.

After a LOONNGG winter, it is so nice to see color and the the promise summer.

Willa at the park

One of our last very nice spring-like days, Willa and I went back to the park for some time in the swings. She understood a little better what to do in the swing, this time. She sat up instead of leaning forward and even grasped the chains.

I needed a Willa fix today and thought maybe you did, too.

I think she needs one of these at her house???

Last Day with Willa

Friday was our last day with Willa.

 A bath after breakfast

Then dressed in cute blue jeans
and posing in the rocking chair

 playing with the DVDs

 heading to the toy box

and finding her favorite...
the stacking pails.

Some Pictures from Thursday

I dressed Willa in hearts from head to toe on Thursday morning. It was too cold to be outside, so we spent the day inside. Here are some of my pictures of some of Willa's facial expressions. You would have think she asked Grandma for something really special and I said NO according to some of the looks I was able to capture.

 There's that tongue again

 But why?

 I'm yelling at you G'ma

 Okay, whatever you say

But I'm going to do it anyway

Just look at those long eyelashes!

That old rocking chair and 4 DVDs in their
cases entertained that little girl all week.

Walking Willa

Since she figured out how to lift her feet and move them,
she does take some steps now and then. Grandpa was
having her practice this evening and when encouraged
to walk from Gpa to Gma, she walked 9 steps.

Just for you, Mom & Dad...

Dancing Willa

Willa enjoys dancing, but does not do it on command. It is also hard to find just the right music for her to shake her bootie, too. It was the country music station playing in the background that had just the right music for this little video.

I LOVE my new flip camera!

The Chairs

I had bought this cute pink plastic chair for Willa in an AZ store and brought it home planning to give it to her for Easter. But we didn't see Willa on Easter, so I brought it out this morning so she could play with it. And she did.

She had been playing with the rocking chair. But it moves very easily on the carpet and she likes to stand in it. A bit dangerous, but she can certainly entertain herself with it.

This was my rocking chair. It was covered in red plastic when I had it almost 60 years ago. My grandfather recovered it when Kari was born. And now Willa is playing with it! Pretty cool.

Monday's Stroller Ride

Willa really enjoys going for a ride in the stroller. This time it was Grandpa's turn to push and Rocco went along. Willa & Grandma had taken a half hour walk/ride. Good for both of us!

Movie from my new flip camera! love technology...when it works like it is supposed to!

Friday Afternoon

It was a beautiful afternoon here on Friday, so we decided to take a family walk. At Auntie's suggestion we headed to the park, our nearest neighborhood playground.

By now the sunglasses on Willa are gone!

She LOVED the stroller ride, giggling and
wiggling if Auntie didn't move it fast enough!

She enjoyed the swing just as much as the stroller ride.

 Talking and laughing

hanging forward, checking out the ground

all as long as Grandma was in sight!

Next time I'll take the movie camera.

Change of Scenery & People

We brought her to our house this morning once M & D left for a little vacation. This was the first 2 hours...

It was okay to be on Auntie's lap as long as she was being fed, or rather allowed to eat.

It didn't take long for the banana and fruit puffs to disappear!

Grandpa was cleaning the high chair and getting it ready for Miss Willa for the 'real lunch' of peas, squash & potatoes.

A little play time and close contact with Grandma and then...

out like a light!

Hope the rest of the days go as well as this morning.

Willa's Thursday Thoughts

Grandpa & Grandma came to my house today so I didn't to go to daycare. Instead I had to entertain them. Again!

 Where's Grandpa?

 There he is!

 I'm waving Grandpa!

I can see my reflection in the glass door
of the entertainment center.

Oops, I might be in trouble here, Grandma!

Is Grandpa done mowing yet?
