Cadillacs

Today was a travel day from Albuquerque to Amarillo. Some of the travel was on Historic Route 66, Albuquerque to Moriaty as it becomes part of Interstate 40 at that point until Tucumcari where Route 66 divides the town into east/west parts. We did some geocaching along each of those two stretches. We saw some interesting buildings in each of the communities and some very awesome mural paintings in Tucumcari. Very awesome murals. No photos.

Amarillo is our first TX stop as we are planning to head southwest to collect geocaches in some more TX counties and some other specific geocaching. We have been to Amarillo several times and have seen (tourist-wise) all we want to see. We grabbed a few caches as we entered town, one of which took us to more Cadillacs. The stop was called the Second Amendment. (We are in TX!)

So I am wondering if there are more Amendment Cowboys in Amarillo or in Texas????

The geocache was related to the Cadillac display.

This location is the souvenir shop for Cadillac Ranch, a tourist stop about a mile west of this corner. The shop had displays of T-shirts, mugs, post cards, key chains and other novelties related to the Cadillac Ranch down the road, Route 66 and all things Texas. I resisted.  We have stopped at Cadillac Ranch several times. Here is the my blog post from our stop in 2016: Cadillac Ranch

If you are in the Amarillo area it is worth the stop at the roadside display of buried Caddies. We drove right on by today.
