A Termesphere

Dick Termes, a SD native and unique artist, paints scenes on spheres.
He uses six point perspective.

The spheres revolve using a small ceiling motor.
His painted spheres range in size from 1 foot to 7 1/2 feet in diameter.

This sphere is located in the railroad museum in Deadwood.
The scenes show some early history of the town.

The bottom of the sphere was reflected in a mirror on a pedestal
showing "The Deadman's Hand"...the poker hand
Wild Bill Hickok was holding when he was shot by
Jack McCall on August 2, 1876.

The Termesphere Gallery is located in Spearfish SD
where about 30 of his 400 creations are on display.
