Some Mid-Winter Time with the GrandKids

We are back in SD for five days experiencing winter. A cold freeze is encompassing the entire US from west coast to east, including sunny AZ. Although the western half of the state received some snow recently, the eastern part is just cold without the addition of more white stuff. There should be no problems traveling back to AZ on Monday.

We have certainly enjoyed the time with the grandkids. The stress of coordinating the cancer week is miles away. No phone calls and no emails means the issues will wait until next week. So the time here has been busy, busy, busy as it is with any young family with two small children.

This little guy is developing a personality.

He is almost always happy and content,
unless he wants to be fed, needs a dry diaper, or is ready for  nap.
It is quite easy to tell which he wants at any moment of discontent.

Big sister likes her share of attention.

Marek enjoying his Christmas floor mat and hanging toys.

Willa has kept me quite busy. Over and over again we have read stories, played nap time, set puzzles, colored, played Memory (I think she won!). Although she awakens before anyone else in the house, she quietly plays in her room until one of the adults stirs. And then it is busy until nap time. She has a wonderful imagination and is beginning to tell stories. She also reads to us.

After a busy grandma & Willa morning, Willa and
grandpa spend some time together.

They built a really tall tower from her Duplo blocks,

A tower taller than Miss Willa!

She and grandpa also did some coloring while watching
the football games.
No one took pictures during Willa and grandma time!

Enjoying the toys on his bouncy floor chair.

Busy talking and cooing...

Tired of being on his back...

Over he goes onto his tummy.
He also rolls from his tummy to his back.
Marek is also entertaining.

What a great way to break up the winter away from home!
