We traveled south on US Hwy. 81. We were on this road just a couple of weeks ago and in the same area. Today we came upon this scene, following it for maybe 10 miles.
We had not seen how wires were lifted allowing the house to move along the highway.
Two guys in the bucket lifted and moved the wires. They would be doing it again a few miles down the road.
The truck and house had to move between the RR Crossing signs at an angle. Quite a job to move a house down the road.
We were surprised to see even the train was on hold while the house moved through the area.
We are thinking the house was coming from Madison SD. There is a business that builds the homes (including two stories) inside a building, huge building, allowing them to work year round at any stage of the process.
This is the second time we have encountered a new home being moved on this same road, this year.
