Day 2 of Our Caching Adventure

We started day 2 of our geocaching adventure with fog, drizzle, and temps in the low 40s. Since most of the day's caches were placed along US Highway 18, the weather was not the issue. It did become an issue when we needed to travel dirt roads on the Indian reservations to claim 2 "must haves".  There may have been only 10-15 miles (total) on the two excursions, but the road conditions and total miles covered made for some tense driving. Overall, it was a successful day.

the Red Hills

"The Red Hills are an inexplicable collection of buttes and bluffs rising high from the plains to form a scenic and topographically interesting horizon. The scenic Red Hills rise to an elevation 2461 feet above sea level."

but in sad need of some TLC
did NOT find the geocache here

We collected caches in 4 more out-of-the-way South Dakota counties, collected two must have caches near the Nebraska border and about 30 of the 110 caches along the Oyate Trail. Yep! A successful day!

  1. I would have liked to attend Mass at St. Anne's, nice old church....if walls could talk. The photo of the Red Hills is beautiful
