Day 3 of Our SD Geo Adventure

The very fall-like weather was with us again today: drizzle, a north wind, and cool temps.

I am adjusting to the fact this trip is NOT going to add huge numbers to our geo stats. It IS adding counties and a couple of other geo stats to complete MY SD geo goals for this summer. Three counties were added today. That is good.  We continued to cache along the Oyate Trail, but are abandoning it tomorrow for some other much needed caches as we head north.

It seemed like we spent a lot of time in cemeteries today. That is not the case. The ornate metal markers were worthy of photos.

My first trip to Bonesteel. There was a Battle of Bonesteel???

We did a quick stop at Fort Randall along the Missouri River. It deserves a long visit...someday.

  1. This 'caching' has taken over your life ha ha. Just think.....a great opportunity to view so many cemeteries with such unique headstones. Very interesting, a great deal of history taken in as well.
