Our Fall

So why haven't there been any October posts? It is hard to get excited about posting on the blog when the only adventures we have had so far this month involved hospital stays and doctor visits. A stress test for Hubby the end of September (required prior to his next surgery) led to an angiogram the following week. That procedure revealed one of the 3 bypass arteries from the 2010 open heart procedure is now totally blocked. The other two arteries are doing well and in fact, have taken over the duty of the blocked one. Hubby was cleared for hip replacement surgery on October 7th. That went well and after a 3 day stay, he came home to heal and rehab. That is also going well. He is faithfully doing his exercises and has begun some short walking excursions outdoors.

While we have been busy with medical issues, fall arrived. Last year at this time our 3 maple tress had not started to drop their leaves. We left for AZ without doing any yard work. (We hired it out once the trees were bare.) That was sort-of the plan for this fall, too, hiring it out. The temperatures have been so awesome, I looked forward to being outside (away from nursing duties). I have taken care of the leaves from our maple trees.

This has been the view from our kitchen table
Our neighbors trees

I had cleaned all the leaves the day before

I think the colors have been very vibrant
this fall

Most of the leaves had dropped

Not that I want this job every fall,
but I did not mind it this year
maybe because I am not trying to get ready
to leave for the winter just yet...

The medical issues are NOT over
more on that topic later
