Valley of Fire

We are in Las Vegas for the weekend. This is not our first trip to this city. We are not staying on the strip this time, but are a LONG LV block away...maybe a half-mile. Our goal this trip was to geocache along the strip, which we did on Friday night. It was A LOT of walking. It also sprinkled off and on, so we did get a little wet, but accomplished our mission and found our way back to our hotel in the dark.

Saturday's plan was to drive northeast of Vegas to Valley of Fire State Park. Yes, there was geocaching, but also this was a sight-seeing adventure. It was well worth the drive. The colors of the red rocks were enhanced by the rain, and the wee bit of sunshine at the beginning of the driving tour.
