Christmas from Our Casa

It all started with the decision not to fly back to SD for Christmas, with the blessing of our kids. Then one day Hubby saw a string of colored Christmas lights while shopping for something else. Those lights went up and ON before Thanksgiving! He was very excited and proud of his purchase. That was the beginning...

YEARS ago, we moved some of our Christmas decorations to AZ and decorated here when we didn't go back for Christmas until January. I will admit it has been a few years since I decorated for Christmas in AZ. My motto being: What goes up, must come come! Besides, I was decorating back in SD, so I wasn't doing it twice.

Sunday after Thanksgiving, I pulled the totes from their storage place under the deck. Two full totes. Two rather large totes. One for inside. One for outside. Here are the results, inside & out.

the lights that started it all
strung along the driveway below the sunshades

trimmed the doorways rather than the deck railing

pepper lights Christmas tree
Santa is waiting by the door to greet visitors
basket a not-so-smelly pinecones to remind us of winter

a little Christmas cheer for the neighbors
who look out their window onto our deck
(the candy canes were rescued from the dumpster many years ago)

decorated metal saguaros
(I purchased the red ornaments years ago when we had
an agave and a yucca in the yard. I was going to put the
ornaments on the tips of the plants. Those plants have been
gone for quite some time!)

the tree collection on the ledge above the fridge

little lighted tree in the corner of the kitchen

non-traditional stockings
no chimney, but hung with care
In hopes St. Nicholas soon would be there...

and he was!

he brought a lovely present we will surely enjoy!

  1. Very nice decor and I enjoyed looking back to 2013 when the grand's were so small! Merry Christmas.
