It was a week of Miss W activities. The week started with the last soccer game of the fall season on a chilly Monday evening.
OK...we were chilly
it bounced off the frame of the net
and did NOT go in
but her team did score 10 goals in the last game
a very nice win to end the season
and a pretty sunset
my camera battery died before the best colors appeared
At the end of the week we headed to Rapid City for the Elementary Honors Choir Concert.
Over 200 third through fifth grade students from South Dakota schools auditioned last spring hoping to get one of the 145 spots in the choir.
Fourteen of the seventeen third year students (being selected all three years) were introduced to the audience. (Three students were not at the concert.)
Miss W was selected to the choir in 2019 and again in 2020, but because of COVID-19 the state wide concert was not held last fall.
The kids do an amazing job! They get the music at the beginning of the school year and are expected to have the six songs memorized in their voice range. Her school sent six singers. She was the only third year singer.
Five of the fourteen third year singers got to introduce the next selection. She was one of them.
The large group rehearsal started at 8 Saturday morning. According to Miss W, " We sang, sang. sang and then took a break for donuts. Then we sang, sang, sang and had pizza for lunch. Then we sang, sang, sang and listened to a song by the High School All-State Chorus. Then we had another snack before our concert at 3:30."
We are very proud of Miss W
She is a cutie! And I love that she sang, sang and sang!
