Our last full day of our Cancun vacation was all about the water...
The three eldest Ehresmanns donned swimsuits and entered the water before noon. It surprised two of us how strong the waves were as they rolled to shore. And the waves were NOT that big.
At one point all seven of us were in suits and in the pool. Later in the afternoon the other five went into the ocean for some wave jumping. There had been a near drowning just before we all got there, so part of the beach was closed due to the strength of the waves. We learned later about 10 life guards from two resorts came to help rescue the young man. We did not see the rescue, but did see the young man and his parents as he recovered from his rescue.
That is as far as they were allowed to go at that part of the beach. They headed to a more protected area with another family and had a blast jumping the waves.
