Cruise Ports in Mexico

We have had three ports of call in Mexico along the Pacific Coast. All three stops have been new to us cities. Because of internet usage and pay for minutes used, I am posting photos with very few words.

Cabo San Lucas

The famous Lands End Arch separating the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.

We had booked a whale watching tour. We were not disappointed! The hump back whales migrate to the waters off the coast of Cabo. There were whales spouting in the area. Our little tour boat took off and did its best to give us a great show.

Puerto Vallarta

Our tour in Puerto Vallarta was a tour of the Old Town by bus with a lovely walk along the beach past numerous statues.

Acapulco

The highlight of the Acapulco tour was the stop at the old tired hotel where we saw the cliff divers. These are just some of the steps we climbed down and then up to get a view of the professional diving show.

The divers jumped into the water from our side of the viewing area and then climbed the cliff to their starting point for their dive.

This was the first diver to the top of the cliff. They stop at the altar/statue to offer a prayer before their dive.

Everyone is in their positions for their dive. The youngest is on the lower right. The 3 at the bottom level of the cliff did their dives first. The middle guy was the oldest in this group and guided the two below him as they made their jumps. I would guess the two lowest were the youngest and less experienced.

two divers at once from just below the top of the cliff

then three at one time from that level

There are 60 professional divers in the group; the oldest is 65 who makes the dive once a year. They start training at the age of 12. There has never been a fatality, according to our guide.

This was the final diver who started at the very top of the cliff and the only one who jumped from that level. It was a WOW experience and the best part of our Acapulco tour.

There are other photos on my phone which will not get to my computer until we are back in AZ. OFD is cruising with us. Our next stop is in Guatemala and then a cruise through the Panama Canal. we are having a great time. Excellent cruise. Excellent food. Perfect weather.
