After a year of planning and organizing, The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of 2009 is history. The 5 mile walk took place on Saturday morning here at the resort. It was a beautiful morning for a walk here in AZ. Over 100 people registered to walk, exceeding our expectations for the first time event. Nearly $6000 was raised in pledges for the event and over $900 on the baskets we raffled. AMAZING! A luncheon was held after the walk. The sea of pink gives me goose bumps. As a co-chair for the event and "queen" of the Canyon Vista's Vixens, Red Hat Ladies, I am so thankful for those who took on responsibilities to make it all happen and those who volunteered to make the day a huge success.
I can now relax and enjoy the sun and temps of AZ.
