Another big day today at Canyon Vistas RV Resort. Today was Bid for the Cure.
Talented and gifted residents donated handcrafted items for the sealed bid auction.
Diane from Belle Fouche hand quilted the yellow baby blanket.
Joe from Ontario created the oak barrel candle stand.
Dick from Montana made the leather framed mirror.
Nancy from California hand wove the two cashmere scarves. There was jewelry, painted china, a drum, a walking stick, a blanket, a painting and hand carved wooden pictures.

An hour later, the live auction took center stage. I never know what to expect from the bidders.

The bidding was hot and heavy...
the basket sold for $550
that amount would be hard to beat...
Curt bid on the Minnesota basket,
and getting it for $225
we got SPAM, salted nut rolls, 3M products,
Betty Crocker & Cherrios,
wine & Nut Goodies...
31 different MN produced items!
But the star of the afternoon was our very own...
South Dakota basket
for the second year it brought the highest bid...
3 bottles of wine, 1 bottle of vodka, a 6 pk of beer
yes, the vodka & beer are SD products, plus
Dakota Style Chips & products, jellies
BZs home-made fudge,
Terry Redlin items and more...
the basket of South Dakota products sold for
$600!
WOW!!! Over $4000 this afternoon for
the American Cancer Society
Another successful day in the Fight for the Cure Week
Thanks to the residents for their hard work and long hours
creating a successful auction,
and a huge Thank You to those willing to open their
wallets or checkbooks for ACS!
