Willa Visits the Zoo

In spite of the heat this morning, we went to the zoo. We started in the stroller but...

Grandpa thought she should get out of the stroller
for the photo op.
It was a cute photo op, but that was the end of the stroller.

 We visited the monkeys.
She never was still long enough for a photo.

 "Willa, pose for Grandma!"

I don't want to sit in the condor nest!

 Colorful peahen and the chicks

 fed corn by Willa

"Give me more, Grandpa!" to feed the geese.

 See the jaguar

She wasn't too sure about touching this one.

Willa on the move and her shadow.

 Yes, running...

 Feeding the pygmy goats

This little guy got through the fence
She didn't get too close to him.
As he moved toward her, she backed up.

She watched some bigger boys feed the kid maple tree seeds.
So she picked up the seeds from the ground and fed the little guy.

 A horse!
Surprise that she didn't pass it by.
Grandpa was out of quarters...

but this young guy figured out the merry-go-round
could be pushed without money. He was very gentle
and Willa was thrilled with the ride.

The hour and a half at the zoo led to a two+ hour nap!
Should have done that earlier this week!
