Chloride AZ ~ A Living Ghost Town

We did a road trip last week to Nevada for several days of geocaching. Before leaving AZ we made a stop in the village of Chloride.

Chloride started as a silver mining camp but other ores were also mined: gold, lead, zinc, copper and turquoise. At its peak in the early 1900s, Chloride had 2000 residents. Chloride also boasts of a two room jail and the Santa Fe Railroad Station. It has a playhouse and has a gun fight entertainment on Saturdays.
