Hail Storm & Aftermath

On July 11th a small hailstorm and strong winds moved through town. Our end of town did not have the damage other parts had...car dealers offering new cars at a reduced cost, trees down, broken windows...the kinds of things one could expect from a hailstorm.

started about 7:40 pm

most of the hail was rather small

look at the points on this hail stone

there were some unusual shapes

some of the bigger stones in comparison to my feet

and the rainbow at the end, 8:09 pm

sunshine at 8:11 pm

hail didn't appear to strip the flowers

the rain was much appreciated

July 19th

no harm done to this cone flower plant

can't say the same for the gazing ball

don't know what this plant is

does attract the bees

I have 3 coneflower plants in the bed, different colors

this is the only one that is full of flowers
