Globe is one of those nearby communities that has lots of history and uniqueness worthy of a visit every winter season. This week we wanted to complete some new geocaches, see friends and enjoy lunch together, and share the trip with friends of friends. By leaving time of 8:00 AM, the group had reduced from 8 to 3. Okay, we can work with that!
We took a round-about way to Globe because we had heard and read on the AZADOT website there would be a road closure on Highway 60. There wasn't, but that was okay because the road we took gave us a real bonus. Of course, there was another reason for taking the long way to Globe... geocaching.

Now for the real bonus. There are two areas along the highway I was expecting to be colorful with wild flowers, but the two expected areas were a real disappointment. It wasn't until we were driving along the 'new' road that I was blown away by the amount of wild flowers. Here are just some of what we saw. Some are duplicates, sorry, but I like the photos so you get them twice. Also, I do not know the names of the flowers. Again, sorry. If you really want to know, you can do the research. Otherwise, just enjoy the beauty of spring in the desert when we have the right amount of rainfall.
white poppies! A new & unexpected sight for me!
And once we got to the community of Globe, the trees along main street were in bloom. Couldn't resist. A sure sign of spring!
Remember, you can click on any photo to enlarge it and all of them.
