Stop #1: Train Station. (The Hogwarts Express train took Harry and his friends from London to Hogwarts School. The owl print shop also has a Harry Potter connection)
Stop #2: Dragons. (Hagrid loved all kinds of animals and these were two of his favorites.)
Stop #3: Bank. (Gringots is the bank in Harry Potter run by and protected by the goblins.)
Stop #4: Newspaper. (The Daily Prophet was the newspaper for wizards in the Harry Potter Series.)
Stop #5: Candy Shop (Like Honeydukes, this Ames candy shop makes chocolate frogs, owls, and a Santa Claus that resembles Dumbledore.)
How did you do? Have you read the Harry Potter series of books? Have you seen the movies? Harry Potter was a huge favorite in our family. We all read the books and have seen all the movies. OFD even bought the books in London because the book covers were different. Hubby bought all the books on cassette tapes (No CDs when the first books were published.) The grands have also been introduced to the series.
The following photos show some other interesting sights we saw (OK, I saw.) while walking in the downtown area of Ames. We noticed nearly everyone was wearing a mask, those shopping and those working in the stores and businesses. There were not many people walking in the downtown area, but there were lots of cars parked along the main street.
