Geo Catch?

I hosted a geocaching event on the patio of a local eating establishment. This is the sign that greeted us Thursday afternoon.

I did give them a note with the correct spelling! Can't complain too much as the restaurant is very accommodating for our gatherings.

On Friday afternoon we had a geocaching date with our friends, Sherry and Jon, to work some of the more interesting geocaches in our area. We figure four sets of eyes are better than two. And two more minds to work on the puzzles are always welcome. (Jon saved us a couple of times!) *photo courtesy of the Hockersmith

We came upon a deserted homeless camp with LOTS of remains; books, clothes, trash, and this pilot.

Clever hide if you know where and what to look for. (I don't like intentionally ending a sentence with a preposition, but I did.)

Time for one more cache, he said, before we headed to the big one for the day...a night cache.

We needed white lights (flashlights) and UV light (black light) to find the geocache. It was set up in six stages. It might have been helpful to have a 6 volt spotlight, but with the four of us and the flashlights we had, we successfully stumbled around looking for special markers...

...leading us to the geocache. We needed the UV light to read coordinates at two of the stages and at the end to certify we had the correct log sheet. I won that UV flashlight at the raffle at Gilby Gone Wild in September.

On Saturday we traveled to the west side of The Valley for some more geocaching. I saw this jeep tire cover and thought it worthy of a photo: Silly Boys, Jeeps are for Girls  I did not look to see if the driver was a girl.
