College football season has begun! We traveled to Minneapolis on Thursday to meet OFD and to attend the first University of Minnesota football game of the 2022 season. I have not been to the first game of the season since 2019.
This first game was a big deal for Hubby. U of M hosted New Mexico State (of Las Cruces). The head coach of the NM Aggies is the former head coach of the Golden Gophers/U of M. Jerry Kill, the former coach, said he would never set foot on the U of M football field, ever again. Well, he did on Thursday night. The big question was, would former coach Kill man-up and shake the hand of Gopher coach, PJ Fleck?
Here are some photos (from me and our daughter) from the pre-game ceremonies, the game, and the final score and answer to the above question.

In the circle is a squirrel. It ran onto the field at the west end zone and continued to the east end zone where the game was currently in play. Some folks did try to catch the intruder, but I do not know if they were successful. The squirrel ran along the sidelines of the Gopher players and eventually disappeared. It was great entertainment. The crowd cheered as it crossed the field goal line at the east end!
