Buffalo Trading Post

The cache was titled Before The Buffalo; made sense as we were in Custer State Park and Wind Cave where bison do roam. But a look at the other side of the road revealed why the cache was named as it was.

At one time this must have been a popular stop for the
many tourists traveling scenic highway 385

Trading Post & Gas Station

Someone has a great sense of humor!

These bison statues (I think 3) are painted each year and displayed
in the town of Custer. The statues are then auctioned as a fund raiser
for the city. Many are on display in Custer along Main Street.

Someone bought this appropriate bison for this former business.

Somebody & General George Armstrong Custer

But not today...

Hidden off to the side of all the interesting stuff
was this unique stone house.
Somebody's Home.

Another fun geocaching stop!
