Orphan Train at The Bird Feeder

Book club read Orphan Train this month and chose one of our favorite places to eat and discuss the book, The Bird Feeder. Book Club met at the Bird Feeder last June, just 2 months before our leader and dear friend Diane was diagnosed with cancer. She passed away before Thanksgiving, 2013. Diane was on our minds and in our thoughts today as she introduced us to this quaint little establishment.

The center pieces today, sea shells and fresh flowers

And a container of fresh veggies which was actually
the door prize at our table
Judy won the door prize

Our lunch started with 'bird seed'
Followed by fresh garden pea and veggie soup

Sandwich choices of chicken salad on
homemade breads

A nasturtium flower was in the dip
for our homemade veggie chips
We all ate our flowers

And a roast beef with cheese on a bear claw bun
Frosted (green, red and black) grapes and
Pineapple coleslaw with fresh dill dressing

Lori's birthday brownie
(see last year's post)

Fresh rhubarb pastry with crumble topping
(Judy and I split our desserts)
Yummy and decadent!

We miss you Diane!

Our book selection for this month
So, SO Good
I highly recommend it!
