Happy Birthday Kari!

Although her official birthday is today, we spent last weekend in the Cities helping her celebrate.

She chose Barley John's for dinner Friday night

We enjoyed a brewsky outside on the patio

I ordered Rachel Meatballs for dinner
(ground turkey & sauerkraut with 1000 island dressing for dipping)

We did a road trip on Saturday
clever & creative water tower in Lindstrom

Our first unexpected stop for cookies

The road trip agreement was we could geocache IF we would stop at any and all the quirky little places she wanted to stop.

Then it was onto St. Croix Falls and Taylor Falls WI. We stopped in some little town to taste & buy Gouda cheese. The stop also had Grandma's Barn full of interesting items. It had a lot of fairy village (?) displays and items for the display for sale.

An old metal stock tank was converted to a fairy village

The tank was filled with dirt and itty bitty houses, fairies

and outdoorsy decor for a village
(We thought of you, Crystal and your project last spring)

We stopped at Barron WI to find a geocache

Kari's destination was the Norske Nook for pie in Rice Lake WI
We had lunch, but were disappointed our favorite pies
were not on the menu this month. We "settled" for
pecan, toasted pecan cream, and peach raspberry melba
Tasty second choices

Hubby and I did some more geocaching in Eau Claire and then headed back to Minneapolis. Thanks for a fun day, Kari and a fun weekend.

Happy Birthday!
