Murals~Superior Home Tour

This will be the final post from our day at the 2019 Superior Home Tour. This post has very little to do with the homes we toured. Since my first Superior Home Tour in 2014 I have thought of the community as an artists' haven. This blog will share some of that artistry.

on the side of a home we passed on our walk from the high
school to the boarding house

my favorite building mural on Main Street
as seen from The Magma Hotel veranda

colorful, whimsical

our entertainment while we ate on the patio of Porters
I think he played 8 different instruments
and had a lamp made from a trombone
(as seen -sort of- in the far right of the photo)

and seen in a store window in Superior

It is also a community trying to preserve its history and its buildings. It is a community acknowledging its history and sharing it with others by hosting weekend festivals throughout the year. The Superior Home Tour is always the last weekend in January each year. Put it on your calendar for next year. Until then there is :
-The Annual Apache leap Mining Festival, March 15-17
-The Superior Artists Festival, April 6
     -Magma Royals, August 3
-Annual Prickly Pear Festival, August 17
-Saint Francis of Assisi Fiesta & Car Show, September 21
-Miracle on Main Street, December 14
