A Social Life

The only happenings after our trip to Yuma in early February was social time. In retired people language, that means eating out occasions.

We invited Chad and Jane (trycacheous) to join us for dinner after a day of geocaching (for them). We enjoyed good food and some great conversations on February 8th. Chad is known for his creative geocaches in Gilby ND. Check out some of his caches from our visit last September.

Then on February 11th we were invited to join fellow Watertonian retired educators at their nearby AirB&B for dinner and socializing. A great evening at the base of the Superstition Mountains.

On February 14th we celebrated 50+ years of friendship with Bill and Donna who are renting a house here in the resort. Again, good food and excellent company.

Then it was 02/22/22 ... a day of twos making it a rather special day in the world of geocaching. I hosted an event at a local restaurant for about 60 geocachers.

We had some special door prizes for the occasion.

Some of the visiting geocachers were from the Midwest: Minnesota and Illinois. Although a bit chilly (after the sun went down), everyone had a good time.

And finally, February 23rd was the annual winter gathering of folks from my hometown.

It was a windy, very chilly (for those of us who spend our winters in AZ) afternoon/evening. We were thankful to have the building for our social hour.

In fact it was so chilly no one was eating outside or outside listening to the live music at San Tan Flat. If you are from Java, or know someone from Java or once drove through Java...the next annual winter gathering will be March 1, 2023.

Most of the 50 attendees are in the photo. A few chose to take the photos instead of being IN the photo. They are the folks who married someone from Java and are hesitant to call Java their hometown.
