Hail in NE

It was very warm today as we traveled north & northeast. The car thermometer showed 90º and the sky was often overcast and always hazy. We were happy to be leaving tornado KS, or so we thought. We stopped at Norfolk NE for the night. We were in town about a half hour when it began to rain. Then it hailed. This area was in a tornado watch.

After the hail stopped, Curt went out to check if there was any damage to the van. There wasn't.

He collected some of the hailstones to take a picture. They were about the size of golf balls. We should not have been surprised to experience the weather we did...all the signs were there!

And the funny thing, we got an email from Canyon Vistas that said there was snow on Flatiron (4648' elevation) this morning. The high today in CV...65º!
