One night this past week we drove to downtown Mesa to see the lights at the Mormon Temple. This is the 34th year of the light display.
"The annual Mesa Temple Garden Christmas Lights display conveys peace and goodwill of the season with a unique and spectacular exhibit of hundreds of thousands of lights that serve as a backdrop for the sounds of the holidays. The display is entitled Celebrate the Birth of Christ in Lights and Music."
I will share my photos of the outside display in this post. To see my post from three years ago, visit December 2008, Christmas Light Show.
Lights cover every outdoor surface.
The branches and trunks are wrapped in colored lights. This tree had hanging icicle lights that would like from the top and move down the tube, like the white tube on the right.
The fences have lights.
The star shining in the east.
Lights looking like flowers are placed in the flower beds.
This is one of my favorites...the purple wrapped trees along the reflecting pool.
A tree wrapped in red lights and green lighted bushes.
Blue wrapped tree with flash...
without flash. Notice the long white lights on the tree...more icicle lights.
Red lighted flowers in teh flower beds.
Clumps of lights looking like strings of peppers.
The Three Wise Men...
one in blue...
one in red...
and one in purple.
The west side and entrance to the temple. The light display is in the yard/lawn to the north.
Next post will show some of the nativity sets from around the world.
