Like fellow hiker Hans, Curt swore he would never do Box Canyon again. But when Tony, who had explored another part of the canyon, shared with the hiking club the beautiful views, Curt caved and went along to Box Canyon. I don't think it is the canyon hike he dislikes as much as it is the 13 miles on a dirt road. The road now includes 2 miles of pavement and only 11 miles of improved gravel road. I have hiked Box Canyon. I don't remember these views as I was busy watching my feet and staying out of the water. Can't find any photos either. Can't imagine taking a desert trip without the camera. The canyon was dry this time, but still a busy ATV and jeeping destination. Enjoy Curt's photos.
I don't remember the interesting 'designs' on the
left canyon wall.
Remember the song, The ants go marching one by one,
Hurrah, hurrah?
Move aside. ATVs coming through
A cave
An abandoned mine
Some boulder climbing
Gorgeous colors
A surprise on the drive out of Box Canyon
Mountain Sheep, a mama & her babies, and the ram.
That alone was worth the trip on 11 miles of dirt road
Wow, looks like a great hike. Beautiful scenery. A real treat to see the Mamma and her babies.
