Mardi Gras at the Resort

It has been awhile since a new post. Sorry about that. My excuse: having to read an 800+ page book for my Watertown book club Skype meeting on Wednesday evening. The book is read. The discussion held. Time to update the blog.

Residents at the resort celebrated Fat Tuesday with a morning parade, a noon lunch and an afternoon of music and free beer. I caught most of the parade and enjoyed some free beer. Many people wore their costumes all day. The weather was winter perfect.

Here is the retired folks version of Mardi Gras...

 decorated golf carts

 with pretty ladies

and a water spewing, pooping dragon

the dragon had it's personal pooper scooper
(man riding on the back of the cart,
scooping dried desert cow chips)

 flowered golf carts

 sisters from Pierre, SD

 garland carts

 neighbor Mary
with grandsons riding bicycles

 ladies sharing beads

 a restored antique car

 my Red Hat sisters

 with their own band

 and 'boudoir' cart
with plump red pillows

and streamer carts

The dragon won the top prize of $100.
The Red Hats also won a couple of prizes.
A good time was had by all!
