Another Culinary Experience

I so enjoyed my lunch at Technique Restaurant at Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale with the Red Hat ladies, I decided I would book a reservation for Kari's birthday when we visited her in Minneapolis. I could not get in for lunch so booked dinner instead.

This is our dining experience at Technique in Minneapolis on Thursday, May 3rd.

The school appears to be located in a business development area,
not close to a shopping mecca or much foot traffic as in Scottsdale.

It is next to the very busy international airport.

Quite a large complex, all on one level.

A shot from our table to the front of the dining room.
We were the first guests for the evening.

The wait staff wanted their picture taken.

We had two choices for our starter:
Salad of Romaine, Grilled Crouton, Egg, Parmesan, Anchovy, Olive Oil
(Caesar Salad)
(That is bread on top. I didn't get the little anchovy in the photo.)

OR
Veloute of Sweet Peas with Créme Fraiche and Pine Nuts
(Velvet creamed pea soup: warmed & tasty)

Prior to our starter, we had a "First Bite", a dollop of home-made
cream cheese with red pepper, some seasoning, on a crisp, bite-size tortilla.
It WAS just a bite.

And now for the Mains or Entrees:
Halibut Fillet: broiled, fresh green-herb caper sauce & Fingerling Potatoes
and Asparagus

Tenderloin of Beef: tomato-tarragon butter sauce, Pommes Frites
(French Fries) and Arugula Salad

Our dessert choices:
Crumble of Strawberries & Rhubarb with Vanilla Mousseline

Cheesecake with Chocolate Sauce & Pecan Praline

We also had a "Final Bite" to clean our pallet, but I don't remember what it was,
other than it did indeed clear the previous lingering tastes.

Other than the limited number of items from which to choose, which was a disappointment to me, hubby & Kari were very pleased with the dinner, their cuisine selections, the taste & presentation and the bottle of wine we selected to go with our dinner and served by the sommelier.

There were diners at almost every table as the dinner hour proceeded.

The location was not easy to find. We learned they will be raising their prices. I don't know if that is everywhere or just MN. It sounded like a corporate decision, which would indicate a price increase at all Technique Restaurants.

Happy Birthday Kari!
