Instruments at the Museum

The Musical Instrument Museum opened in early 2010. The collection includes instruments from around two hundred countries and territories in the world. Some larger countries such as India, China, Russia, the United States, Congo, and others have multiple displays for different types of ethnic, folk, and tribal music. The instruments have both historic and artistic merit and many are more than fifty years old.

Signage told the what and where of the instruments

There were the very large and very small

This one (above & below) won my award for most humorous

 Instruments from animal parts

 Instruments as large as animals

Instruments from around 200 countries around the world

Video at each country shared music of the
country with a map of its location in the world

 Unusual instruments

and very artistic,  handcrafted instruments

An awesome display and well worth a visit. This was just a glimpse of all that we saw and heard and read on Monday.
