New & Dying Flora of San Tan Mt. Park

 New buds

A saguaro needs a host to increase its survival
chances. This is a great example of the saguaro
out living its host.

A dying cholla among a hedgehog cactus.

 Another dying cholla

A saguaro no longer standing guard in the desert

 This saguaro caught my eye
because it looks like someone
turned it a quarter turn. Quite unusual.

Compare the twisted one with the 'normal' one

 Although it has toppled over,
I am not sure if this one is dying...

as some of its roots are still in the ground.
