Hiking the Mogollon Rim
We drove 110 miles, one way, to go on a new hike on Wednesday. New to most of us, anyway. We drove north of Payson to hike along the Mogollon Rim. There were twenty-seven hikers on the trip. Elevation at the rim is 7000'; Apache Junction around 1700'. The temperature when we arrived at 10:30 was around 45º with an expected high of 53º. We were walking in a ponderosa pine forest, looking at two or three mountain ranges to the south.
