Lunch at the Bird Feeder

The Book Club members traveled 30 minutes north to have lunch and discuss our most recent read Faith Bass Darling's Last Garage Sale by Lynda Rutledge.

Yes, The BirdFeeder
a quaint house in Twin Brooks SD
that is a reservation only eating place

It was full today with 3 groups of women,
maybe a total of 20

This was lunch

The meal starts with a small cup of 'bird seed'
assorted nuts with a yogurt covered almond 'egg'

Soup choices today were chicken tortellini
or cream of asparagus
We all chose the delicious cream of asparagus

Sandwich choices on fresh assorted homemade rolls were
chicken salad, warm slow roasted pork loin, or cold sliced beef
The sandwich comes with the small salad of greens, homemade
veggie chips & dip, and fresh fruit

A friend and I  split the chicken & pork sandwich (with dip)
Oh so very yummy!

Then it was time for dessert.
Today there were four choices and we each chose
something different.

butterscotch pudding pie

coconut cream pudding pie

apple crumble pie with ice cream

brownie with coconut filling, topped with ice cream
and chocolate & caramel drizzle

Notice how each dessert 'matches' its plate?
How cool is that?

A good book, a fun discussion, a delicious lunch,
and a beautiful day for a drive in the country!
Who could ask for anything more?
We missed you Judy!
