we spent some time along the Ravine Creek
and James River
saw fish jumping in the water below this spillway
and finally captured one in mid-air
a cloudy dreary day, again...
just one of many unique cache containers and hides
in and around the community
one cache hide brought us to Frontier Park
my dad had a seeder/drill like that one
and a corn planter like this one
somebody spent a lot of time making cut-out life-sized
cowboys, horses, and buffalo
a historical home/museum
a SD politician
statuary in the yard watching us look for the cache
the north flower bed was packed with Lilies of the Valley
a corner garden at the Pyle Museum needing attention
we were amazed at all the murals on the sides of the
downtown buildings
this one was called the Huron Land Office
lots of fertile land along the James River
a rose bush in the little park near the mural
this one was on the building across the street
there must have been an auto race in Huron years ago
the area is known for its pheasant hunting in the fall
this railroad car was setting on the fair grounds
it was given to SD by the people of France after WWII
each car could hold 40 humans or eight horses
another interesting cache container made to look
like a camera to watch the ducks or the GFP's
people watch us trying to find the cache
A Fun Caching Day
in another SD community
We have four days of geocaching planned
for this coming week in Yankton SD and
Norfolk NE.
So no, the kitchen won't be finished this week either!
