College Baseball in Tuscon

We are in Tuscon this weekend so Curt can watch the U of Minnesota baseball team. He watched a game and a half this afternoon while I did something else.

The games are being played at the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, the former spring training home for the White Sox and the Diamondbacks. The teams have been lured to the Phoenix area this year. It is a beautiful stadium. Too bad nobody is using it, permanently. It seats 11,000 people! Maybe a hundred were in the stands today.

Oklahoma State, Washington State, and South Alabama are playing in the Gopher invitational. The games are in Tuscon because the Metro Dome collapsed due to snow and the Gopher baseball field is under renovation.

I'll go to the noon game tomorrow and then we'll head home.
